After eight weeks with FruitJuice - I’d say it works well

I recieved my Mid-2011 13” MacBook Pro in 2013, provided from work. When I first had the laptop the battery easily lasted five+ hours. Four months ago the battery started draining in less than two hours, then less than one. I got curious, and I did two things. 1. Found a program using excessive CPU (Navionics GPS), there is a background process that eats CPU and battery. I kill that process when it starts, unless I’m using the software. That alone doubled my battery life. 2. I stated using FruitJuice. FruitJuice did a maintenance cycle on my battery as soon as I installed it. I didn’t notice a big difference immediately. I followed the suggestions to unplug my laptop battery for a period of time every day. 30 days later a second maintenance schedule was run, and I continue to follow the off-power suggestions. Eight weeks later, I am getting five hours of battery life.

Useful, unobtrusive, responsive

It’s useful: I’d otherwise have no idea what balance of charge/discharge keeps the battery happy. It’s unobtrusive: starts automatically, uses a tiny amount of menu bar space, lets me customize alerts. Responsive: I filed a bug report and got a speedy and helpful reply. Update: the problem was actually with my laptop, which needed its SMC reset. I have yet to find any problem with FruitJuice.
